I’m Merlzz, beauty professional, business systems strategist, wife, and mom and for a long time, burnout was my middle name. I did what so many women in the beauty industry are taught to do: work harder, take on more clients, say yes to everything, and figure the “business stuff” out later. Until later came crashing down—literally.
After losing my salon and spa due to a tow truck running into the building, I was forced to rebuild from the ground up. That moment changed everything. I knew one thing for sure: I was not willing to rebuild a business that required me to sacrifice my peace, my health, or my family ever again.
As a mother and wife, I wanted a business that fit into my life, not one that demanded I disappear inside of it. I started asking different questions:
- Why were talented beauty professionals struggling financially?
- Why did so many feel overwhelmed, inconsistent, and exhausted?
-Why were we constantly told to “perfect our craft” when skill was never the real problem?
That’s when the gap became crystal clear.
The beauty industry doesn’t have a talent problem—it has an operations problem.
Most professionals don’t need better skills. They need better systems, structure, and support.
Watching my own mother own and operate her shop my entire life and now watching her retire with physical ailments from decades of overworking solidified my mission. I saw firsthand what happens when passion is not protected by systems.
